Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 2, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :

Dishman, James - entered service Botetourt County, Virginia, with brother early in Revolutionary War; taken POW at sea & paroled by British; entered service later in cavalry unit; died 10/16/1820; married 7/30/1788 to Jane Gunn (Marriage Bond 7/25/1788 signed by William Gunn), Botetourt County, Virginia; couple lived later in Tennessee; widow granted pension age 90 in Warren County, Kentucky, 1851, her application witnessed by James L. & Mary J. Dishman; affidavit made by Nancy Dishman age 88, Simpson County, Kentucky, that she married 1782 to Jeremiah, brother of soldier, her 3rd child was born 1787, further her husband was Virginia Revolutionary War Soldier.
