- Dishman, William - entered service 1776 in Essex County, Virginia, brother of James, John, & Jeremiah; born there 9/26/1754; entered service 1777 on privateer ship Mosquto; taken POW, paroled by British; moved to Kentucky in 1810 where granted Pension 1832 in Barren County, when brothers James & John deceased; died 12/4/1833 there; married 2/15/1782 or 1785 to Sally Salmons, Bedford County, Virginia, who was born 9/20/1763; widow died 7/7/1839 in Barren County, Kentucky; son William applied for Pension as administrator of her estate in 1851; & Pension Application rejected under current Pension laws; query letter in file 1839 from great granddaughter Mrs. J.W. Sorrells, Abilene, TX. F-2965, R821.
