[Note: the basis for this birth date is unknown. The hardly respectable Source:Houghton, John Wesley. Houghton Genealogy, p. 307, says Jacob was "b. in Worcester, Mass., 4, 1, 1696". No birth record is found. The date of 2 Jan 1708 entered into the Lancaster Records by a descendant is clearly wrong as is most of the other data submitted in the same posting (e.g., 1708 would be too young to marry 3 Feb 1724/25 as the actual recorded marriage record says).Jacob is the eldest son, per the distribution of his father's estate.]
