    BIOGRAPHY: Hullum and Mary moved from Rockingham County, Virginia, to Putnam County, Indiana, circa 1835, then to Monroe County, Iowa, in 1856. From there, they moved to the town of Murray in Clarke County, Iowa, in 1867 where they remained the rest of their lives.

    GRAVESTONE: Gravestone for Hullum Scott located and photographed in Murray Cemetery in Clarke County, Iowa, on July 22, 2007. Gravestone is a large obelisk and is in excellent condition. The inscription reads:

    HULLUM SCOTT
    DIED
    AUG. 2, 1897
    AGED 87 YRS
    3 Ms, 11 Days

    NOTE 1860: Due to the handwriting of the census taker, the first name of "Hullum" has been incorrectly transcribed and indexed as "Hallum". Thus, the household is listed as that of "Hallum Scott" on the 1860 Census for Troy Township, Monroe County, Iowa.
    Hallum's son, Newton, was also listed as living and working in the household of John Bane just 19 households away and still in Troy Township.

Oddly enough, Johnson was also listed with both Real Estate and Personal worth amounts though he supposedly lived in the Scott household. Unknown and totally unclear what the situation was at the time of the 1870 Census.
