    ASSINK, Gerrit, age 73, of 104 So. 9th St., Lynden, passed away suddenly at his home, Tuesday, Oct. 11, (1960). Mr. Assink had ben a resident of the Lynden area since 1908 and was a member of the Faith Reformed Church of Lynden. Surviving are his wife, Marie; seven sons, Harry and Rubin, both of Bellingham, Bert of Laurel, Ben, Floyd and Gerald, all of Lynden, Marion in Missouri; one brother, Harry of Selah, Wash.; six sisters, Mrs. Tom Heeringa and Mrs. Ralph Piolon, both of Lynden, Mrs. Hattie Klomp of Grandview, Mrs. John Hyesman of Selah, Mrs. Dora Terpstra of Grangeville, Idaho, Mrs. Garnet Willis of Yakima; 26 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. Funeral services will be held in the First Reformed Church in Lynden, Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m., Rev. B. T. VanderWaude Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Monumenta Cemetery under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.
