1968 - Newspaper clipping: Woman Dies Day After Anniversary. Mrs fannie Confer, 72, of 2-A Packard Court, died Monday (Dec 23, 1968) in Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She celebrated her 52nd wedding anniversary with her husband, Raymond P. Confer, on Sunday, the day before she died. Born in Ontario, Canada, Oct 14, 1896, she attended Hickory College School. She was a resident of Western New York for 68 years and of Niagara Falls for 50 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs Ernest (Anne) Russell, of the Town of Niagara and Mrs John (Beulah) Sopczuk of North Tonawanda; seven sisters, Mrs Frank Johnson and Mrs Florence Sattleberg, both of this city; Mrs Nelson Shaw, of the Town of Niagara; Mrs Frank Buttery and Mrs Andrew Jorgenson, both of Youngstown; Mrs Clyde Ferguson of Lockport; and Mrs Harold Butler of Buffalo; two brothers, Thomas and Ernest Nickerson, both of this city; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2pm at Niagara United Presbyterian Church, the Rev William J Devine officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
