1972 - Newspaper Clipping: Mrs Ada Johnson, 84, 0f 611 Third St, died today (Nov. 7, 1792) at Mount St Mary's Hospial, Lewiston, after a week's illness. She was born in Niagara Falls and lived most of her life in the Town of Porter. She lived for the last eight years in Niagara Falls. She was the widow of Frank Johnston. She was a member of Rosebud Rebekah Lodge No. 20 of this city, the Niagara falls Golden Age Club, the Grandmothers Club and the Lewiston Fire Co No 1 Ladies Auxilliary. She was a past noble grand associate second and third and past noble grand 1, 2 and 3 of the Rebekahs. Mrs Johnston is survived by three daughters, Mrs Victor (Alice) Senecal and Mrs Hazel Pollock, both of Youngstown, and Mrs Mabel Nickerson of Lewiston; a son, Edward Johnston of Lewiston; six sisters, Mrs Nelson (Lillian) Shaw, Mrs Grace Buttery, Mrs Florence Sattleburg, Mrs Beatice Jorgeson, Mrs Cornelia Butler and Mrs Clyde (Bertha) Ferguson; two brothers Thomas and Ernest Nickerson, 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Gilbert Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday at the Hardison Funeral Home, Lewiston, with Rev Charles Stratton of the First United Presbyterian Church, Youngstown, officiating.
