1975 - Newspaper clipping, obituary: NIAGARA FALLS - Ernest W. Nickerson, 68, of this city, died in the Cleveland Clinic today (Jan 8, 1975) after a brief illness. Mr Nickerson was born in Lewiston and had resided in this city for the past 50 years. He was a retired painter and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Elks Lodge 346. He is survived by his wife, Madge; two daughters, Mrs Emery (Phyllis) Finley and Mrs Albert (Arlene) Reppenhagen, both of this city; a stepson, William, of Canada; six sisters, Mrs Lillian Shaw of Ellicottville; Mrs Florence Sattleberg of this city; Mrs Grace buttery of Lewiston; Mrs Beatrice Jorgeson of Youngstown; Mrs Cornelius Butler of Buffalo and mrs Bertha Ferguson of Lockport; a brother, Thomas Nickerson of this city; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
