Sent for her death certificate, May 2006, but it was not found. They searched 1913-1915.

Elmwood Cemetery, on Telegraph Road in Pike, has a wrought iron sign that says Pike Cemetery. Elvira and Martin's son, Eugene and his wife Mary are buried closest to James Green (in the same row, with one or two unrelated monuments between them.] Marvin, Martin's twin brother, and his wife are very close also. In the picture of the "Shepard plot", from left to right, the graves are Eugene M., Mary, his wife, the name monument, Eva S. (1874-1875), 5 unknowns, then James Green. The other picture is of Martin and Elvira's stone. It lists Martin Shepard, Marvin C. son of Martin, Elvira, died August 6, 1865 age 11y, 6m, and Elvira Green wife of Martin.


Both Elvira and Melvina had 3 children - and both had 2 children survive until 1900. Elvira said her father was born in Rhode Island and her mother in New York.
