Ellen Cundall was the baby daughter of Robert Cundall and Margaret Hardcastle. Their first child, she was born in 1766 in Swetton, Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire. She was christened on Sunday 15 June 1766.

Ellen died the following year in 1767 in Dallowgill, Kirkby Malzeard. She was buried on Tuesday 16 June 1767 in St Andrews Church.

Her elder sister was given the name Ellen In 1770.
