Spouse

Elizabeth is commonly identified as the wife of Patrick Campbell of Beverley Manor. This identification appears to be based on an oath of importation given by Patrick in Orange County VA in 1740. See:Transcript:Orange County Importations listed in Morton, 1920 and Transcript:Orange County Importations listed in Scott, 1907

26 June, 1740. Patrick Campbell: for himself and Elizabeth, Charles, William, Patrick, Jr., John, Mary, Elizabeth, Gennet.

The phrasing "Patrick Campbell for himself and Elizabeth" would seem to indicate that his wife was in fact Elizabeth.

  2. Land Records for Patrick Campbell show that Elizabeth was alive 20 may 1752 when she consented to a sale of land to her son Patrick Jr. 2 years later another parcel is sold to son John, but this time Patrick's wife is identified as Elinor. See Patrick Campbell Records in Old Augusta
