Claude Raymond Pierce
Claude Raymond Pierce, age 87, a long time resident of Carbon County passed away on August 19, 1999 in his home in Carbonville, Utah.
He was born on December 18, 1911 in Giles, Wayne County, Utah to Martin Rylie Pierce and Herriatt Ann Peterson Pierce. Claude married Edith Marsing in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 20, 1935. He was a long time coal miner and worked for the county road. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling.Claude is survived by his four children, Kenneth and Kathrine Pierce of Spanish Fork, Doris and Dan Baldwin of Wellington, Larry and Lola Pierce of Miller Creek, and Claudia Marrietti of Price; 12 grandchildren and their spouses; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a grandson; two granddaughters; and one great grandson.
A viewing will be held at Fausett Mortuary in Price, on Sunday, August 22, from 7-9 p.m., and one hour prior to services. Funeral services will be held at the Spring Glen LDS Chapel, Monday, August 23, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Wellington Cemetery.
