Mary Ann (King) Ward was born in Ann Arbor, Mich. June 2, 1842. Her parents were Benjamin and Caroline King. She moved to farm, with her parents, in Columbia township Oct. 21, 1866, where she was united in marriage to Emmett Ward. To this union were born 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls, two passing away in infancy (they were twins.)

John King who was born in Lincolnshire England 1822. I don't know if this was an uncle of Mary Ann Ward. There was a Richard King who had a son Terry and they lived ouf of Berlamont, so it must have been an uncle, because it said Richard was the son of John King.

Benjamin King was born in Lincolnshire, England. Caroline King born June, died at age 62.

Mary Ann Ward, wife of Emmett Ward, had brothers George, Joseph and RIchard, one sister Sarah and two half brothers, Adelbert and Alton.

Benjamin King (Mary Ann's father) had brothers Joseph and John.

Mary Ann's father and his brother John were tailors in England his his other brother Joseph was a cabinet maker before coming to this country.

Terry W. son of Jos P., not Richard.

Benjamin and John were both in Washtenaw County for the 1840 census and moved to Van Buren County about 1845, where John lived with Benjamin and his wife Caroline. According to the records, they were not tax payers in 1845, which means they did not own land at the time taxes were paid.
