Facts and Events
He may have been in the Civil War: a George King served in Company G, 12th Infantry for Van Buren County. The George King listed on the 1894 Michigan census of Civil War vets lived in Bangor. Curiously, there is a George H. King, a widower, who fits with this man on the 1910 census in Stockbridge. There is nothing to say he is George, but he is next door to Nathan and Eleanor Hatt. Eleanor is suspected of having been married to this George's uncle Benjamin. |
