Facts and Events
According to Bob Mitchell: 1820: A Benjamin Jackson was enumerated in Gwinnet Co., Georgia as head of family. The enumeration is as follows: 1 male under 10; 1 male 16-26; 1 male 25-45; 2 females under 10; 1 female 10-16, 1 female 26-45 and 1 female over 45. 1840: USCensus for Walker Co., Georgia has a Benjamin Jackson enumerated as head of family. The enumeration is as follows: 1 male under 5; 1 male 5-10; 2 males 10-15; 1 male 30-40 and 1 male 60-70; 2 females 5-10; 1 female 30-40 and 1 female 40-50. This appears to be two families, difficult to determine where the children should be placed. The male head of family is assumed to be the eldest and in this case seems to be a little too old for Benjamin, could be an error in age. The next oldest male and female could be a son and his wife from the first marriage of Benjamin, Sr. 1850 Census Dist n/g, Murray Co., Georgia Benjamine Jackson 61 M Farming SC Harriet Jackson 44 SC George W.
