Research notes on Sarah from Bill Jackson: "I have determined that Sarah McWhorter was not my William Henry's wife even though she sometimes is listed that way on the Internet. I accepted that when I first started my research, but later, because of some conflicts that developed, I traced William Henry Jackson and Sarah McWhorter through several censuses and found they were different people than my William Henry. The 1850 census lists a William H. Jackson in Hancock County, the son of James and Lena Jackson. I believe that is whom Sarah J. McWhorter married.

"I have been able to pin down the location of my direct line, Edward-Benjamin-William Henry, to Gwinnett, Murray, Walker, Whitfield and Dade counties in north Georgia, and there's no indication they were in Hancock in south Georgia.

"The 1860 census in Walker County, GA, lists William Henry, who I identify as the son of Benjamin, with a Sarah born in Tennessee. That Sarah's headstone in Hight Cemetery in Franklin County, Arkansas, gives her birth date as 13 Feb 1833.

"I have done extensive searching for the surname of my Sarah and have not been able to come up with it. No one in my family who has done reseaarch has been able to identify her either."
