Will Transcript

In the name of God Amen,
I Aaron Quarles of the parish of Saint John in the County of King William being sick and weak but in perfect memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following IMPRIMIS
First my will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid
Item I give to my sons James Quarles and his Heirs for ever five pounds current money
Item I give to my wife one ffeather bed and ffurniture one bay Mare called Fane two Cowes and Calves two ewes and Lambs one sow and two pigs half a dozen platesI also Lend my wife two Negroes during her natural life and after her decease to be sold for the use of my estate.The negroes I lend my wife is named Stepney and Violet.
Item I give to my son Tunstall Quarles my megroe Boy named Herculas to him and his Heirs forever
Item I give to my daughter Catherine Quarles and her Heirs forever one Negroe Boy named Lewis
Item I give to my Grandson Aaron Quarles Stark and his Heirs forever one Negroe Boy named Mark
Item I give all the remainder of my estate to be equally divided between all the rest of my children vize.---- Anne Isbell, Aaron Quarles, John Quarles, Nathaniel Quarles, Jane Stanhope, Barbary Starke, Tunstall Quarles, and Catherine Qualres to them and their Heirs forever.
Lastly I appoint Joseph Ffox Bartholonew Dandridge and John Quarles, junr. Depy. Clerk to be executors of this my last Will, revoking all former Wills by me madeIn Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninetheenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven.

"This will was proved at London before the Right Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws and Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted on the twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy one by the oath of John Quarles the younger one of the executors named in the will to whom administration was granted to all and singular goods and chattels and credits of the deceased having been first sworn by commission duly to administer power reserved of making the like grant to Joseph Fox and Bartholonew Dandreidge the other executors named in the said will when they or either of them shall apply for the same."
