"Note: There is no primary source for the marriage or Mary or Dorcus, Sterns and Jeremiah Hatch. Russell and others give this marriage and even name children. Jeremiah was of Scituate, not of the Tolland/Barnstable Hatches. Research shows Jeremiah married a Mary Bates. There is not even circum[s]tantial evidence supporting a Mary Starns marriage. A Winchester, New Hampshire, gravestone gives Dorcus as his second wife."
