1644, OLIVER, Dorchester 1636, was mem. of the ch. with w. Sarah,
bef. 1639. RALPH, first min. of Duxbury, arr. at Boston in a half yrs.
pass. from London, Nov. 1636, eighteen wks. from land to land, in comp.
with blessed Nathaniel Rogers. He had been well insructed. tho. we kn.
not the place, and was many yrs. a preach. at Sutton, Co. Kent, near
Dover, as is learn. from a bond and conveyance of ld. therewith by
John Marshall of Lenham, Nov. 1631, made in consid.of m. buy him intend,
with May, d. of P. wh. with Jervase P. (prob. his br.) citizen and
cordwainer of London, were made trustees. Yet these papers are rec.
here aft. 30 yrs. It is remarkable, how little has been told of him, beside
this tranact. Chap. 11 of Book III. in the Magnalia could be condensed
into two lines without loss of one fact. His own will, 29 Sept.
1655, pro. 4 May 1658, a few days aft. his d. names d. Eliz, w. of Rev.
Thomas Thacher
, m. 11 May 1643, her s. Thomas, Ralph, and Peter,
beside her eldest d. Patience Kemp; also his eldest d. Mary M. and her
s. Robert and John. His w. Patience was d. and in the inv. his library
is count. 400 vols. wh. for that time, on this side of the sea, was very respectab.

1668, Mehitable, d. of John Crow, had William, b. 1669, H. C. 1689,
made reg. of prob. ct. 1692, a preach. a. 1693, rem. to Hatfield, had Samuel,
1672; Mehitable, 1675; Mary 1678; Jonathan, 1681, d. at 3 yrs.;
Edward, 1683; Jonathan, again, 1685, d. next yr.; John, 1686, H. C.
1705; and Elizabeth 1688. He was rep. 1685 and 6, m. 1695, the young
wid. of John Atwater of Salem, d. of Rev. Seaborn Cotton;

col. of the reg. Judge of Pro. one of his Majesty's Council, &c. &c.
the most import, man after d. of Col. Pynchon, 1703, in all the W.
part of the Prov. and d. 25 Dec. 1740, aged 95 yrs. 2 mos and 10 days.
For some yrs. his name was by hims, writ. like his f's Partrigg and in
sev. old rec. it is Patridges, or even Patrick; but he adopt. the present
spell. Mehitable m. 1693, Nathaniel Dwight; Mary m. 1695, Josiah
Dwight
; and Elizabeth had four hs. two Hamlins,[2] a Johnson, and a Payson.
SAMUEL, Medfield, s. of John the first of the same, by w. Hannah, had
Hannah, b. 1702; Thankful, 1703; Samuel, 1704; Ebenezer, 1706;
Abigail, 1707; Benjamin, 1709; Silence, perhaps tw. with preced. 1709,
d. young; Mehitable, 1710; Joshua, 27 July 1713; Caleb, 17 Mar.
1717; and Silence, again, 5 Mar. 1719. WILLIAM, Salisbury 1638,
freem. 14 Mar. 1639, is said to be s. of John of Olney in Co. Bucks, d.
1654, left wid. Ann, perhaps mo. of the ch. John; Hannah; Elizabeth b. 14
Feb. 1643; Nehemiah, 5 May 1645; Sarah, 24 Aug. 1647; Rachel,
19 June 1650; and possib. William, posthum. His wid. m. 1 Jan. 1656,
Anthony Stanion, and d. 10 July 1689. Elizabeth m. 26 June 1661, Joseph
Shaw
of Hampton, Sarah m. 14 Nov. 1666, John Heath of Haverhill;
