1671, Priscilla, d. of Aquila Chase, had Abel, b. 28 Dec. foll.; Susanna,
14 Nov. 1673; Nathan, 3 Apr. 1676; Thomas, 1 Jan. 1679; Joseph, 12
July 1681; Nathaniel, 6 Feb. 1684; Priscilla, 13 July 1686; and
James, 27 Jan. 1689. ABRAHAM, Newbury, br. of the preced. m. 1
Jan. 1661, Abigail, d. perhaps, of John Webster of Ipswich, had Abigail,
b. 13 Aug. 1665; Mary, 5 July 1667; Prudence, 26 Apr. 1669,
d. young; Hanna, 9 Jan. 1671; John, 15 Oct. 1673; Jonathan, 19
Jan. 1676; David, 20 Feb. 1678; Sarah, 9 Oct. 1619; Susanna, 6
Dec. 1681, d. in few days; and Prudence, again, 1 Oct. 1683. DANIEL,
Newbury, br. of the preced. m. 14 May 1667, Sarah Clough, had John,
b. 7 Oct. 1674; Sarah, 15 Oct. 1677; Ruth, 7 Feb. 1681; Moses and
Martha, tw. 3 Sept. 1683; and Stephen, 16 Sept. 1688; and by w.
Esther had three more ch.; was freem. 1683 or 4,; his name being in the
list of both yrs. JEREMIAH, Boston, by w. Sarah had Jeremiah, b. 22
Aug. 1652; and Sarah, 14 Aug. 1655. JOHN, Newbury, one of the
first sett. freem. 13 May 1640, d. 12 Sept. 1673; by w. Elizabeth wh. d. 14
July, 1682, had Hannah, b.in Eng. wh. m. 24 May 1647, Stephen Swett;
and d. 4 Apr. 1662. JOHN, Hartford, prob. s. of Nathaniel of Newbury,
had a lot, Porter says, in 1657, was made freem. next yr. m. Sarah, d.
of the first John Watson of the same, had Sarah, b. 10 Sept. 1664;
Nathaniel, 15 Jan. 1667; John, 7 Apr. 1669; Abigail, 21 Dec. 1670;
Daniel, 15 June 1673; Wolterton, 28 June 1675 Susanna, 20 May
1677; Abel, 25 Jan. 1680; Isaac, 11 Mar. 1682; and Jacob, 27
Mar. 1686. He had much of est. of Gregory Wolterton, for wh.
he gave one of his s. that name; was deac. and d. 18 July 1712,
when the eight s. were liv. Sarah m. 22 Sept. 1687, Samuel Kellogg;
and Susanna m. John Turner. These hs. Join. with the s. in partit. of
the prop. In early rec. the name in Conn. had final s. but it is reject.
by all the num descend. NATHANIEL, Newbury, br. of the first John,
m. Susanna Jordan, had Nathaniel, b. 1638; John, bef. ment. wh. was
prob. oldest; Abraham; Susanna; Daniel, Aug. 1642; Abel, 20
Feb. 1644; and d. 16 Mar. 1655. His will of 8 Mar. pro. 27 of same,
ment. w. and the six ch. all under 21 yrs. made Nathaniel excor. with
overseers. NATHANIEL, Newbury, s. of the preced. m. 15 Oct. 1661,
Joanna Kenney, had John, b. 16 Feb. 1663; Nathaniel, 8 Feb. 1665;
Peter, Aug. 1667, Hannah, 12 July 1672; and Mary, 18 Sept. 1675;
and he d. 1 Jan. 1683. Seven of this name had, in 1834, been gr. at
Harv. and twenty at the other N. E. coll.
