William Woolvin was born in 1855 at North Mundham in Sussex, son of Emily Woolvin, formerly Grant, and her husband Edmund Woolvin, an agricultural labourer. William appears in the 1861 census living with his parents and siblings at Brinfast in North Mundham. Come 1871 they were still at Brinfast, but William was now working as a shepherd. He has yet to be researched after 1871.
