Elizabeth Woolvin was born in 1867 at North Mundham in Sussex, daughter of Emily Woolvin, formerly Grant, and her husband Edmund Woolvin, an agricultural labourer. She was the youngest of the couple's ten children, and was probably named after her older sister Eliza who had died earlier in 1867 at the age of sixteen.

Elizabeth appears in the 1871 census living with her parents and siblings at Brinfast in North Mundham. She has yet to be researched after 1871.
