1799 - Baptism: William, son of James SAYER and Margaret his wife, was born September 4th 1799, publicly baptised September 15th 1799. The previous entry was his older sister Margaret who was received into the Church on the same occasion as William was baptised.

1838 - William was buried in a long line of Sare graves. His wife was later buried with him. The gravestone is granite with a cherub at the top. The footstone is sandstone. The memorial inscription, as transcribed by the Women's Institute, reads: "Sacred/ to the memory of WILLIAM SARE/ son of/ JAMES & MARGT. SARE/ who died January. 21st 1838/ in the 39th year of his/ Age/ This ground seems hollow with the mingled dead/ Here lies a father in his dusty bed./ He left a widow with a thousand cares/ And weeping orphans with their droping [sic] tears./ The fatal dart with rapid speed did come/ And forced his spirit to its future home./ And also his wife/ SUSANNAH SARE/ who died December 28th 1868." Note: The transcription incorrectly records that William died in his 59th year. The footstone reads: W.S./ S.S.
