Martin, William - born 1762 in Augusta County, Virginia; moved in 1780 to Lexington, Kentucky, where entered service in Virginia regiment; moved to Woodford County, Kentucky, where granted Pension in 1833; died there 4/13/1836; married 4/13/1799 to Leticia/Letitia/Letty, daughter of John McClanahan, Pendleton County, Kentucky; widow granted Penson abt. age 79 in Woodford County, Kentucky; died there 7/8/1853 leaving children: Nancy H. Stockdell, Elia T. McAfee, John, Washington P., Hugh, Elijah, Ann D., Jane, Martha & William; William Martin (no kinship given) was attorney for soldier's widow 1849 in Versailles, Kentucky; query letter in file 1829 from great granddaughter Grace Lee Martin (Mrs. Denis) Milligan (daughter of e.L. Martin) of Lexington, Kentucky. F-W5327, R1643.
