Syracuse Post-Standard, 5 Nov. 1909: MAN SENT ON AN ERRAND IS FOUND DEAD / William Looker of New Scriba Suddenly Stricken ... Pulaski, Nov. 4-- William Looker, aged about 40 years, who with his wife had lived on a small farm near Orwell in a settlement known as New Scriba, was found dead about 3 o'clock this afternoon by James Baker, who conducts a sawmill about six miles east of Orwell... He discovered Looker at the side of the tracks lying upon his face with the right hand resting over the heart... The Coroner directed.. death resulted from chronic heart disease trouble, with which Looker had been afflicted for some time.
