  • Pages 450-53. 28=29 Feb. 1739 [1740]. William Beverley of Essex County, Gent., to William Ledgerwood of Orange County. Lease and release; for ₤11.12.2 current money. 387 acres, part of the Manner of Beverley... on the top of a ridge... (signed) W. Beverley. Wit: G. Home, David Mitchel, Geo. He is listed in the Augusta Parish Vestry Book, page 260, in 1759.They stated they were from Ireland as they proved their Oaths of Importation on 28 Feb 1739 in Orange Co., VA (a part later became Augusta Co., VA).
