The youngest child of Patrick and Margaret Coyle was William, or “Willie”. He was 24 years younger than Michael, their first child. He married Lauretta Nihil. They lived in Texas for a period of time. Their oldest child, Dorothy, was born in Galveston on 24 June 1913. He probably worked with his brother, Bernard, at Coyle Brothers Construction. By 5 June 1917, when William registered for the World War I Draft, he was a plumber, working for M. J. Daly & Sons in Waterbury. He was described as ‘tall’ with a medium build, blue eyes and ‘grayish’ hair. William was married with two children. He said he had previous military service. He had served with the State Militia as a Private in the Infantry. He had served for six months.
