Biography

'William Cady, (Capt. Joseph 2, Nicholas 1), b. 1692 (?),Groton, Mass. His birth is not found on the Groton records, but he was early with the other Cadys from that town, and there is little doubt that he was a son of Capt. Joseph Cady, for in fact there seems no other family to whom he could well be credited. The record of his marriage has not been found, but three of his children are found in the list of early baptisms in Killingly. The family settled in Plainfield, Connecticut.'[1]

In a town meeting in Plainfield, Conn. William Cady was made a Highway Surveyor.[3]

Notes

Are these notes about the same person (Plainfield, Connecticut vs. Rhode Island)?

William M. Cady (son of Joseph Cady and Sarah Davis) ... married (1) Gralon Unk on Abt. 1712[2]. He married (2) Sarah Ridley on 1715.

William M. Cady son of Joseph, born in Groton Massachusetts. but lived in Rhode Island. There is little doubt he is the son of Joseph. Marriage records at this time have not been found, but the baptism records of three of his children have been found listing him as father and the mother as Gralon.[2]
