On 5 Oct 1761 on list of French prisoners at Fort Edward, two Joseph TERRIAUs listed. The first was 18th in a list of 83 families, with 4 members in his family. [This is most likely our man. The second Joseph was listed 68th with 6 in his family, just before families of Alexis, Etienne and Jaques TERRIAU [presumably brothers, sons of Joseph THERIOT & Francoise MELANSON].
On 12 Jul 1762, ten months after the first census at Fort Edward, most Acadian men had been sent to Halifax, only the sick remained with their women and children at Fort Edward. Among them was a Jos'h TERRIAU, with 6 members of his family. Of those families living there without their men was one of Jos. TERRIAU, with 3 in family. [This is most likely our man.] Listed just before him was René TERRIAU, with 9 members in the family.
Less than a month later, on 9 Aug 1762, these same TERRIAU families are listed as being fed at Fort Edward, with all of the men absent except the Joseph TERRIAU, with 6 in famly (only 4 1/3 victualled). The other Joseph (absent) [probably this man] has 3 in family (with 2 victualled).
By 11 Oct 1762, no THERIOT families are listed among the 74 famlies at Fort Edward. [Have they been moved to Halifax?]
