[The following data is from Shanda Jaremus -- 1990s:]

Thomas Tjarks died of pneumonia.

My mother, Winifred R. Burrow, believes that Thomas T. and Jennie (or maybe Jakobinna before her death) lived in the house on R. 24 which is the first house east outside of Crescent City. It is on the North side of Rt. 24. The Rife's now live there. Reference in Platbook T-27-N/R-13W, Crescent Township. 1800 N between 1500E and 1600E Section 33

Later, Thomas's second residence with his second wife, Jennie Renken, was 1900N, between 1500E and 1600E (one mile North of the first home). This home was then passed to Herman Wessels (my grandfather's brother) and Letha Wessels (my grandfather's half sister who never married), who lived there all their lives. Upon their deaths, my cousin, Martin Wessels, obtained the homestead.
