Jakobinna died of tuberculosis. Church letter is in file.

(January 17, 1997) The following is an understanding of what I have pieced together on how Jacobinna came to America. Jacobinna's mother, Epke, died in 1870. Jacobinna's father, Hillern, then married Maria Janssen. Hillern then died in 1880. The stepmother, Maria, then brought the Jacobinna, Harm, Gesche Margaretha and Helena, plus the three children (two sons and one daughter) she had had with Hillern to the United States in approximately 1880/1881. Maria Janssen was supposedly met in the United States by her brother, Harm Janssen. After Maria was in the United States she married Harm Hofeling.

Jacobinna's sister, Margaretha Frerich's married Geike Wessels, Thomas's older brother.

Birth, Baptism, Confirmation information taken form St. Peter's Lutheran Church records.
