Obituary

Mrs. Jennie Wessels Dies at Crescent; Rites Saturday

Mrs, Jennie Wessels, 83, died at her home northeast of Crescent City at 1:20 a.m. Thursday after an illness of several months.

Born at Eureka, Woodford Co., September 24, 1873, she was the daughter of Renke and Jennie Bruns Renken. Her marriage was on May 10, 1895 to Thomas Wessels who died January 24, 1935.

Surviving are three sons, Herman, Walter and Fred, all of the Watseka area; daughters, Mrs. Edith McDonald of Wilmette and Miss Letha Wessels, at home; also nine grandchildren an 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at Crescent City and was active in the Ladies Aid of the church.

The body will be removed from the Segur Funeral home to the residence where friends may call Friday evening. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 at the residence and at 2 p. m. at St. Peter's Church, with the pastor, Rev. Robert Spenn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
