c. 1829 - Thomas Franklin (aka Frank) Walston, son of Levi M. Walston and Phoebe Rude, was born in Gallatin Co., IL.

1840 - age about 11. Parents lived in Gallatin Co., IL.

1845 - age about 16, his parents left Gallatin Co., IL, and moved to St. Francois Co., MO.

1850 - St. Francois Co., MO, census, age 21

1853 - age 24. His parents left St. Francois Co., MO, and moved to Mercer Co., IL.

1856 - Thomas F. Walston sold 40 acres of land in Mercer Co., IL, to his father Levi M. Walston for $300.

It appears that Thomas F. Walston lived in Mercer Co. until 1856 when he sold his land in Mercer Co., IL, and went to St. Francois Co., MO, to marry.

1856 Nov 20 - age about 27, Thomas F. Walston married Mary Margaret Hutchings in St. Francois Co., MO.

c. 1859 - daughter Allis (Alice) was born. I do not know where - if in MO or in IL. 1860 census will tell me in which state.

c. 1863 - daughter born. Where? In MO or in IL.

1864 Aug - son John Thomas Walston was born in Rock Island Co., IL, per his obituary. This indicates that the family at this time was in Rock Island Co., IL, which is adjacent to Mercer Co., IL.

1866 January - his father Levi Moore Walston died in Duncan, Mercer Co., IL. His widowed mother went to live with her married daughter Nancy (Mrs. Caleb) Vernon in Duncan.
