1840 Dec 25 - Levi M. Walston, Jr., was born in Gallatin Co., IL. His parents were Levi Moore Walston and Phebe Rude.
c. 1845 - His parents moved their family to St. Francois Co., MO. Levi Jr was 4 - 5 years old.
1850 - age 10 living with parents in St. Francois Co, MO.\
1853 - age 13, his parents moved to Duncan, Mercer Co., IL.
1860 census - Duncan Twp., Mercer Co., IL

1860 Sept 26 - Levi Walston, 19, married Muhulda Thompson in Mercer Co., IL.
1862 Aug 10 - Enlisted at Aledo, Mercer Co., IL, to serve in the Civil War. Served in Co. K, 102nd, Ill Vols. Infantry.Severe illness contracted while serving. Also had an enlarged heart and a tumour near his umbilicus. Unfit for duty. Went into hospital at Nashville, TN. Discharged at Lookout Valley, TN, on a Medical Discharge.
1862 Nov 9 - his daughter Mary Alice was born. When he enlisted to serve in the war, his wife was pregnant.
1866 Jan 27 - His father died and his mother went to live with her daughter Nancy (Mrs. Caleb) Vernon.
