Thomas Fernihough was baptised on 28th February 1693 at Marton in Cheshire, son of Ellen Fernihough, formerly Thompson, and her husband John Fernihough, a yeoman.

In 1713, aged 20, Thomas stood as bondsman for his brother James's marriage bond. Thomas was described as being a surgeon of Congleton at the time.

Thomas later moved to Stockport. He died when he was only 26 years old, on 3rd November 1719. He was buried at Marton eight days later. Both his parents survived him.
