Funeral services for Tom Verdoorn of Rock Valley were held Saturday, Jan. 22 at the home and at the High School Auditorium at Rock Valley with Clyde Johnson and Wooster Pattan officiating. Burial was in the Rock Valley Cemetery with Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home of Sioux Center in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tom Verdoorn was born in the Netherlands on July 3, 1887 and passed away Thurs. morning Jan. 20, after a short illness at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 17 days. On March 24, 1915 he was united in marriage to Sadie Zwaan at Rock Valley and to this union were born the following children: Ellen, Mrs. Henry De Vries of Fairview, So. Dak.; Katherine, Mrs. James Kots of of Hudson; Joe Verdoorn of Whittier, Calif.; and Greta, Mrs. Elmer Veldkamp of Rock Valley.

Besides his wife and children he is further survived by seven grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Joe; Dick; William; Martin; Ann, Mrs. Van Westerhuizen; Mrs. Mary De Groot; Bertha, Mrs. Arie Gaalswyk; Toni, Mrs. Henry Van Woudenberg and Gracce. One brother preceded him as well as both his father and mother.
