- At a court held for Botetourt County the 12th of August, 1777. - The persons apptd. to view the road from near James Arnold's crossing Arnold's Valley by Stephen Lyons' house, thence through the mountain to George Willson's on Sproul's Run & crossing James River at Thomas Strunson's Ford and into the Great Road near William Maxfield's, report that a good bridle way may be made and the same is established, and the persons petitioning are apptd. to open the same and keep it in repair as the law directs.
