    ENS. STEPHEN(3) CHASE (Ens. Moses(2)) born in Newbury (now West Newbury) 29 Aug. 1696; died in Nottingham West (now Hudson), N. H., 14 June 1756. He married in Newbury, 17 Dec. 1717, SARAH HALE, daughter of Henry and Sarah (Kelley) Hale, born in Newbury, 21 Oct. 1698; died in Hudson, N. H.; 26 Dec 1753; both buried in Blodgett Cemetery in Hudson. He lived on Crane Neck Hill in what is now West Newbury till about 1748. He sold his homestead there to Ezra Pillsbury 6 Jan. 1747, and removed to Nottingham West (now Hudson), N. H. He married (2) in his old age Thankful ----- who removed after his death in (to?) Westford and there gave a quit claim deed to her husband's estate on 2 Sept. 1756. She was living in Westford in Sept. 1772. Stephen(3) Chase of Nottingham West made his will, 4 June 1755, which was proved 22 June 1756. he mentions therein his wife Thankful, his sons Henry, Moses, Stephen, Samuel and Joshua, his daughters Jemima Thurston and Sarah Cummings and the heirs of his daughter Thomasine Merrill deceased (N. H. Colonial Wills, 19:560).
