BENONI(3) CHASE (Ens. Moses(2)), born in Newbury (now West Newbury) 5 Apr. 1708; died 4 July 1788. He married (1) in Newbury, 4 Sept. 1728, MARY ROGERS, daughter of Thomas Jr. and Hannah (Long) Rogers, born in Newbury, 23 June 1708; died 29 Feb. 1788. He removed from Newbury to Sutton where he lived for many years near what is now Wilkinsville. He and his wife were dismissed to the church in Douglas in Oct. 1768. On 22 May 1783, he sold the land in Douglas "where I now dwell" to his son David Chase. The son soon removed to Whitingham, Vt. And it is not known where Benoni and his wife Mary died. It is reported that they had thirteen children but only ten are accounted for. Children, born in Sutton.
