was born on 10 Feb 1812 in Union Township, Ross, Ohio. She appeared in the census on 25 Jun 1860 in Payson, Adams, Illinois.339 Sarah and Joseph were listed in the Census as the 1261st dwelling and 1268th family polled. Joseph is listed as age 73, Farmer, Real Estate value of $5000.00, Personal Property value of $200.00, Birth in VA Sarah, age 47, Hiram, age 17, Farmer, birth in Illinois Oliver, age 15, birth in IL Nathanial, age 3, birth in IL Jefferson, age 23, birth in IL She died on 10 Jan 1890 in Woodburn, Marion, Oregon. She was buried in Jan 1890 in Woodburn, Marion, Oregon. Burial is in the Belle Passi Cemetery located on Belle Passi Road about 2 miles from the center of the town. Sarah's headstone is made of white marble and is shaped in a four sided pointed top post about ten inches wide on each side. The engravings are becoming quite thin and hard to read. The head stone gives her name and date of birth and some inscription that will have to be traced at a latter date to identify its writing. Sarah is buried in Section 5, lot 006 located at the left front side of the cemetery close to the paved road. Sarah's nephew Aaron Fenimore who died in 1891 is buried to the left of her. Sarah and Joseph sold their land on the 13th of November in 1828 that was located in Kirkwood, Shelby County, Ohio to a John G. Mount from Butler County, Ohio. Sarah and her Joseph moved from Ross County, Ohio to Hamilton Township in Delaware County in Indiana in around 1828. They stayed there until May 1831 when the moved to Richland, Madison, Indian and stayed until Jul 1839. After Jul 1839 Sarah and Joseph moved to most likely Bond county and remained there until Feb 1841. From Feb 1841 until Sep 1849 they resided in Belleville, St. Clair County. In Sept 1849 they moved to South River Township in Marion County, Missouri and stayed until May 1851. In May 1851 until March 1882 they lived in Payson, Adams, Illinois. Then in March 1882 to the Mid 1880's Sarah lived between the towns of Alsea, Waldport,and Philomath in Benton County, Oregon. Most likely from the urging of son Albert Reed Bennet who had previously moved there. Sarah lived from the mid 1880's until her death in 1890 in the little town of Woodburn, Marion, Oregon located near Salem, Oregon. On the 13th April in 1835 Sarah was the first of her family to recessive payment from her fathers (Ebenezer Jr.) estate. At that time her widowed sister Mary was living on the ancestral farm of their father and was a legatee in the 1877 will of George Fenimore. Sarah went blind as remembered by Irene (Bennet) Hellgren. In March of 1878 Sara started receiving a pension from Josephs service in the War of 1812. She received $12.00 a month with increased to $16.00 in May of 1886. Irene Hellgren has two envelopes of Sarah's that were mailed from the Pension Agency in Chicago, Illinois with one addressed to Sarah in Alsea, Oregon in 1883. The other was mailed to Sarah in Woodburn, Marion, Oregon on 8 DEC 1888.
