Facts and Events
[edit] BiographyShe was born 25 Dec 1824 in Montgomery County, Kentucky the daughter of William Robert Dale and Mary Susan (Johnson) Dale. Sarah Dale married Johnson Wilson in 1844 according to the 1900 Census. The children of Sallie and Johnson were:
They raised their children in Aarons Run, Montgomery County, Kentucky. [2][3][4][5] [10] After her husband's death Sarah was involved in a lawsuit with her son and grandson (Wilson's Admr vs Wilson et al, Montgomery County, Kentucky). The case went to the Kentucky Court of Appeals and this was the decision:"Sarah Wilson, an aged widow, owned a small tract of land in Montgomery county. Her son Joseph lived near her. In the year 1903 Bob Bogus, a grandson by marriage, and Richard Wilson, son of Joseph Wilson, raised a crop of tobacco upon the land of Sarah Wilson. Part of the tobacco was housed on the land of Sarah Wilson and part of It on Joseph Wilson's place. Joseph Wilson died In the fall of 1903. One Arthur Jacobs, soon after his death, took charge of the tobacco, and Sarah Wilson sued him In the Montgomery circuit court to recover the tobacco or Its proceeds. He answered, denying title, but claimed to hold It by agreement between Mrs. Sarah Wilson and the administrator of her son Joseph, and that he had sold It, and realized therefrom the sum of $280. The administrator of Joseph Wilson answered, and set up claim to the tobacco under a contract of rental by Joseph Wilson from his mother, whereby he agreed to pay certain costs, lawyers' fees, etc., In an old lawsuit between his mother and other parties, in consideration of her permitting him to have the use of about 8 acres of land for tobacco for the season of 1903. He alleged that Joseph had paid, and assumed to pay, $250 of debts In costs and lawyers' fees, as per their agreement; that Bogus and Richard Wilson were the tenants of Joseph Wilson, and that the tobacco was the property of Joseph Wilson under his contract of rental. Sarah Wilson denied that she had rented the land to Joseph Wilson at all. The Issue thus sharply drawn by the pleadings was submitted to a Jury, and the jury found for plaintiff Sarah Wilson. The administrator appeals.[11] Mrs Sallie Wilson Dale passed away from paralysis on 5 Dec 1911 Montgomery County, Kentucky at the age of 86. [12][13] She was laid to rest in the Wilson Graveyard in Montgomery County, Kentucky.[1] [edit] Sources
