- Vol. 1 - March 1801 (M to Z) - Alexander Stewart vs. Samuel McChesney - In 1773 orator was in City of Leedstown, in County of ____, to purchase servants, and there met Samuel Henning (Herring) and his son-in-law, Samuel McChesney, on the same business. Aside from these Herrings, a Samuel Herring is mentioned as an appraiser on the Augusta records, May 22nd, 1755, but whether of not he was direct from Ireland is not known. (See Judgements Circuite Causes Ended, and Order Book 14, p. 429, Chalkley, Vol. II, pg. 144, p. 67).
