Robert first appears in the Mecklenburg County census in 1790 with two males under 16 and three females in addition to the head of the household, nearby his brother and father (John Jr. and John Sr.)

Robert was granted 100 acres on waters of Davidson's Creek and Line Branch, entered 2 Sept 1793, and issued 20 Oct 1798.

By 1800, his wife is listed as a widow, which is consistent with the inventory of Robert Morrow in Mecklenburg county dated 26 Apr 1800.[1] Unsourced notes provided to the MorrowDNA project indicate his will was dated 26 Mar 1800 and contained the following provisions:

  • It is my will that my wife Martha have the land and all other property under her care during her natural life.
  • Martha (has) raising of the children, put them to work at trades as she sees best.
  • At her death the land is at her disposal to any of my children.
  • Wife Martha is sole executor.
