Facts and Events
BIOGRAPHY: Robert & Hannah resided in Rockland, Knox Co. [then Waldo Co.] ME for a time, then emigrated to Seneca Co., OH in 1832, where he died 4 days after their arrival according to "History of Henry County Illinois", Vol. II, by Kiner. According to "History of Mercer and Henderson Counties" 1882, published by H.H. Hill & Co., Chicago, he emigrated to Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH. Note: Present day Knox Co. ME, was established in 1860 from parts of Waldo & Lincoln Counties, but had two entirely different names in 1773; first, Newcastle Co., provence of NY, second Devonshire Co., Royal Provonce of Mass. Bay. Robert is listed in the Census for 1820 in Camden, Lincoln Co., ME and all of this family of Robert and Hannah, except the oldest two sons, appear in the 1830 Camden, Waldo Co. census. According to "History of Mercer and Henderson Counties" 1882, published by H.H. Hill & Co., Chicago, he was a seaman by profession and spent 20 years at sea, prior to emigrating to Tiffin, Seneca Co., OH. DEATH: Susanne Burt Danubio has date of 4 Nov 1832. BURIAL: Jeremy Jordan found a website in July 2005 for the Lowell School Cem. in Adams Twp., Seneca Co., OH that lists a Robert Jordan, died 1832, aged 53y, 11m, in Section SE, Row 8. This would give an incorrect birth year, but if the inscription was 58y, 11m, the birth date is confirmed. The posted photo is in very poor condition.
