[Post Office is Rural], IL, enumerated on 9 Aug 1860, age 38, b. ME, farmer, w/wife + 1 child. Listed as Henry I. Jordan in 1870 Fed. Census for Western [Twp. ??], Henry Co., (Post Office Andover), IL, enumerated on 11 Aug 1870, age 48, b. ME, retired farmer, w/wife Lucinda + her mother Lucy Chapin. Listed as Henry I. Jordan in 1880 Fed. Census for Orion, Henry Co., IL, Dist. 122, enumerated on 7 Jun 1880, age 58, b. ME, retired farmer, w/wife Lucinda A. Jordan, both his parents b. ME. He was a grain dealer, resided in Orion, IL, It is assumed after 2nd marriage. There is a record in the Illinois State Marriage Index of a Henry I. Jordan married on 19 Jun 1884 to Mrs. Susan E. Chapin Ward - 001/0168 00001795. Additional research necessary. He is mentioned in the booklet "Orion Methodist Church, Orion, Illinois, 1853-1953, Centennial Album", as a trustee of the church, and that info was derived from the 1877 "Henry Co. History.
