Rita LaVonne Doerring, daughter of William and Anna Baltz Gentz, was born on a farm near Luana, Iowa, on June 16, 1924. She passed away at the Palmer Memorial Hospital in West Union on July 29, 1969, at the age of 45 years, one month and thirteen days.

Her early years were spent in the Luana area, where she attended the country schools and graduated from high school at Luana, Iowa.

On March 12, 1947, she was married to Eugene Doerring at the Little Brown Church. To this union two children were born: Dwight of Columbus, Ohio, and Bonnie, who lives at home.

Mrs. Doerring is survived by her husband and two children; one grandson; her mother (Mrs. Anna Gentz), Strawberry Point; one brother, William of Dubuque; four sisters, Mary (Mrs. Harley Radloff) of Luana, Hester (Mrs. Ivan McGuire) of Cedar Rapids, LuAnn (Mrs. Albert George) of Boston, Mass., and Marjorie (Mrs. James Leach) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father, one sister (Agnes) and a brother in infancy.

Burial will be in Postville Cemetery.
