"History of Fayette Co Alabama" by Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Moses Newell, 1960, Fayette Alabama, p197 -no source named - says she was born abt. 1810 (age 14 at marriage?) and birthplace, Georgia or Tennessee. The Newells also speculated that perhaps Isaac Ledbetter is her father but with no source. Isaac Ledbetter and his sons John S. & Seaborn are shown to be in the same area as Asa Castellaw Alexander, both Sr. & Jr., in about 1820 and 1830; "A History of Dale County, Alabama, Bal McGee, p9:Bertha Settlement In Henry (later Dale) County where Isaac operated a store before moving to Walding Cross Roads where the Alexanders were. Census: 1850 Geneva Co Alabama, Asa C. Alexander, says she was 40, same age as her husband, and born in Georgia, this would make her birt about 1805/6. 1860 census, Alabama, Coffee Co., Election Prec.#1, dwelling104: Rebecca Alexander-50, John-23, Alabama-14, Columbus-12.
