  • Botetourt County, VA Road Orders: 2 November 1773, MCOB 1, p. 144. The report for viewing the way from the Glades near Drapers Meadows to the Market Road at Jno. Craigs returned and the road Established agreeable thereto. And ordered that Peter Stevens be appointed overseer of the same & that Jno. Craig work thereon & tell others that Settle within the bounds. [2]

    In 1753 Peter Jr. Stephens married Mary Chrisman and abt. the year 1767, he moved from Frederick to Botetourt (now Montgomery) County, Virginia. He was in the Service in the Revolutionary War as a Private and as a Sergeant. (See Bounty Warrant) in Archives of Virginia State Library, Richmond, Virginia
    He died 1812 in Montgomery County, Virginia.
