    A copy of the will of Peter Grantt late of Stamford in the county of Delaware deceased-

    In the name of God Amen. I Peter Grantt of the Town of Stamford Delaware County and State of New York being weak of Body but of sound mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same, do make this my last will and testament...
    I also appoint my beloved wife Catharine, Donald Grantt and my Brother Alexander Grantt Executors of this my will - Also - I give and bequeath to my Son James - one hundred Dollars...when said James is twenty four years of age..
    Also I give and bequeath to my Son Alexander the sum of Twenty five Dollars to be paid when he is twenty three years of age...
    Thereafter also I give and bequeath to my son Peter the sum of Seventy five Dollars...when he is twenty four years of age...
    Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Penuel fifteen Dollars to be paid within six years from and after the Date of this my last will and Testament. Also I give my Daughter Mary the Bed and Bedding that she calls her own...
    Also I give bequeath and devise to my sons John and Sweeton my farm and moveable Estate...and that my said sons John and Sweeton shall provide for and maintain my sons Alexander and Peter until they are one and twenty years of age...and to cause my sons Alexander and Peter to be taught to read and write and cypher as far as the Rule of Three - Also I give and bequeath to my son James one pair of three year old stears...
    This is my last will and Testament signed and Sealed this 21st Day of July 1803 by me Peter Grant. Signed and Sealed - published and declared by the Testator as his last will and Testament in the presence of us who subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of each other - It is to be understood that Alexander and Peter is to work with John and Sweeton till they are twenty one years of age -
