- ↑ At the time of his death, Percy was legally blind (Macular degeneration) and almost completely deaf. He developed lung cancer and died at Whidbey Island Manor nursing home, about two weeks after the diagnosis.

- ↑ Percy went to school in Dalhart until after his Junior year and then moved to Oak Harbor where he completed his high school education.
- ↑ Percy & his brother, Marvin, worked on the crew of the steamboat "Yukon" and "Princess Louisa" which steamed the full length of the Yukon River - through Alaska and into the Yukon Territory as far as Whitehorse.
- ↑ Decorations: European Africal Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal. At the time he enlisted, in 1942, Percy weighed 131 lbs & was 5'11".
